In this assignment, I will be creating concise and impactful graphics by embracing the principle of "less is more" in visual communication. The task involves designing a pictogram that represents an assigned concept. My focus will be on using simple shapes to convey the message clearly and efficiently. I will work solely in analog format, avoiding digital tools, and limiting myself to black and white colors without the use of text or numbers.
First sketches
My phrase was "Put on your own mask before you help others", so I started sketching something that i connected the phrase to.
Prototyping
After the sketching, I made an analog prototype to see how the pictogram would look in black and white.
Digitization
I scanned in my prototype and redid everything in Illustrator to easily change the color and size of the pictogram. This resulted in a pictogram with a white background and one with a black background.
